UNITA Recipes Handbook

Title: UNITA Recipes Handbook

Date: 6 June 2025

Description: Open Educational Resource (OER) developed as part of the second training offer by the UNITA Teaching and Learning Centres (May–June 2025), aimed at strengthening university teaching staff competencies in internationalisation.

Authors: Aneider Iza Erviti, Paloma Fernández-Rasines, Julia Itziar Amorena.
Summary: This video is part of the course Recipes to Promote Teaching and Learning in an International Environment, delivered by Aneider Iza Erviti and Paloma Fernández-Rasines, professors at the Public University of Navarre (UPNA). In this second session, the UNITA Recipes Handbook for Internationalisation is introduced — an applied resource created by the European university alliance UNITA within the Erasmus+ project RECIPES for Internationalisation.

The Handbook provides a collection of 27 structured recipes that translate strategic internationalisation goals into concrete, accessible, and adaptable actions. Each recipe includes ingredients, step-by-step guidance, timeline, estimated cost, difficulty level, language requirements, type of academic recognition (when applicable), and intended outcomes. Some also include tips, inspiring examples, and links to additional resources.
By using the metaphor of a recipe, the Handbook makes the complex process of internationalisation more approachable and replicable. It is designed for academic coordinators, teaching staff and administrative professionals interested in integrating international elements into curricula, fostering intercultural learning, building strategic partnerships, or enhancing staff development.

Freely available through UNITApedia (the UNITA Virtual Campus) in both PDF and interactive digital formats, the Handbook also includes a Self-Assessment Tool to help identify areas for improvement and recommend tailored recipes based on the internationalisation level of each degree programme. Additionally, each UNITA partner university has appointed an Advisor in Internationalisation to support users in the implementation of the recipes.
